Are you looking to play some Valorant with friends? This guide explains what ranks can play together in Valorant.

What Ranks Can Play Together In Valorant?

Here are what ranks can play together in Valorant if you’re in a group of 2-3 players:

  • If the lowest rank in your party is Iron or Bronze, the highest rank can be Silver.
  • Silver and Gold players can play together.
  • If the lowest rank in your party is Gold, the highest rank can be Platinum.
  • If your party’s lowest rank is PlatinumDiamondAscendantImmortal, or Radiant, the highest rank can be exactly one tier higher. This means that if the lowest player is Diamond 1, the highest player can be Ascendant 1.

Valorant calls the above “Normal Party Restriction Ranges“.

Valorant does not allow 4-stack parties because Riot Games feels that this would make for a poor experience for the fifth player on your team who is not part of the stack.

You can, however, 5-stack in Valorant with players of ANY rank. For example, your party could include players from Iron all the way to Radiant. Parties that contain any players outside of the normal party restrictions above will receive Rank Rating (RR) penalties.

It’s also worth noting that parties of 5 can only be matched with other 5-stacks.

5-Stack Party Rank Rating Penalties Explained

5-stacks with players outside of the normal party restrictions ranges (explained above) will receive a Rank Rating penalty as follows:

  • 5-stacks of all Ascendant 3 or below will receive a 25% RR reduction penalty.
  • 5-stacks with any Immortal player will receive a 25% RR reduction penalty.
  • 5-stacks with any Radiant player will receive a 75% RR reduction penalty.
