How to Show FPS in CS2 (3 Methods Explained)
Along with a good CS2 sensitivity and crosshair, having high and consistent FPS is one of the most important ways you can improve your performance in Counter-Strike 2.
Below, we’ll show you how to show FPS in CS2 so you can monitor your frames per second while playing Counter-Strike 2.
How to Show FPS in CS2
There are a few different ways to show FPS in CS2:
Show FPS in CS2 Settings UI
Unlike earlier versions of Counter-Strike, CS2 now lets you enable showing FPS directly in your game’s settings.
Open the settings and click “TELEMTRY” under the “GAME” tab. Set “Show frame time and FPS” to “ALWAYS” in the dropdown.
Your FPS will now show in the top right of your screen.
CS2 Show FPS Command
To show your CS2 FPS using a console command, open the developer console and enter the command “cl_showfps 1“.
Your FPS will now be displayed in the upper left-hand corner of your game.
To turn off this FPS counter, you can enter the command “cl_showfps 0” in the console.
Show CS2 FPS Using Steam Overlay
Another way to show your CS2 FPS is using the Steam Overlay. With your game open, press “Shift” + “Tab” to open the Steam overlay. Click the settings gear icon and go to the “In Game” tab.
Use the dropdown for “In-game FPS counter” to select where to show your FPS. You have the options of “Top-right”, “Top-left”, “Bottom-Right”, and “Bottom-left”.
An FPS counter will be displayed in whichever position you select.
Improving Your CS2 FPS
To improve your FPS, consider taking these steps:
- Close other programs on your PC that might be utilizing your graphic card.
- Lower your graphics settings by going to Settings > Video > Advance Video and changing your settings to lower quality.
- If the above steps don’t work, consider upgrading your computer’s graphics card.
