How to Unlock Kiriko in Overwatch 2 | Complete Guide

Kiriko is one of the strongest Support heroes in Overwatch 2. Her extremely high skill ceiling makes her a familiar face on the Season 9 top 500 leaderboards and in eSports matches. However, newer players looking to give her a shot must first unlock her through a series of challenges.

This guide explains how to unlock Kiriko in Overwatch 2.

How to Unlock Kirko in Overwatch 2

The first step to unlocking Kiriko is to activate her hero challenges. To activate Kiriko’s challenges:

  1. Click “Heroes” on the main Overwatch 2 menu.
  2. Click on Kiriko on the “Heroes” page.
  3. On the right side of Kiriko’s page, click the “Challenges” button on the upper-right side of the screen.

  4. On the challenges page, click the “Activate Challenges” button in the bottom-right of the screen.Overwatch 2 Activate Challenges

You’ll see a notification in the bottom left chat box as you complete challenges.

Now that you’ve activated the challenges for Kiriko, it’s time to complete them.

Kiriko Unlock Challenges

Here are the challenges to unlock Kiriko in Overwatch 2:

  • Wins For Kirko: “Win 10 games queued as All Roles or playing Support heroes in Quick Player, Competitive Play, or No Limits.”
  • Practice Kuna Crits: “Get 2 critical kills with Kunai in the Practice Range as Kiriko.” Keep shooting enemy bots in the head with your right-click Kunai until you get a notification in the bottom left that you have completed the challenge.
  • Practice Healing Ofuda: “Heal 250 damage with Healing Ofuda in the Practice Range as Kirko.” Use your left-click Healing Ofuda to heal allied bots that have taken damage.   • Practice Protection Suzu: “Use Protection Suzu on 2 allied bots simultaneously in the Practice Range as Kirko.” You can complete this easily by throwing Kiri’s Suzu at the feet of the two allied bots (see image above). The Protection Suzu ability is bound to the “E” key by default for PC players.
  • Practice Swift Step: “Use Swift Step through a wall to an allied bot in the Practice Range as Kiriko.” Swift Step is bound to the “Left-Shift” key by default for PC players. Go behind a wall, put your crosshair on an allied bot, and press the button bound to your Swift Step ability to complete this challenge.
  • Practice Wall Climb: “Use your passive, Wall Climb, in the Practice Range as Kiriko.” Climb a wall in the practice range by walking forward and holding your jump key. For PC players, this means holding down the “W” and “Space Bar” keys on your keyboard simultaneously as you approach a wall.
  • Practice Kitsune Rush: “Buff 2 allied bots simultaneously with Kitsune Rush in the Practice Range as Kiriko.” Deal enough damage to enemy bots, do enough healing to allied bots, or use an Ultimate Accelerator (shown below) to get your Ultimate Ability Kitsune Rush. Go behind the two allied bots, face them, and press the key bound to your Ultimate (default is Q for PC players).Overwatch Practice Range Ultimate Accelerator

You can check your progress on these challenges by pressing the Escape (ESC) key on your keyboard, clicking “Challenges”, clicking “Hero” at the top of the challenges page, and finally clicking on Kiriko.

After completing all the challenges, Kiriko will be unlocked for Competitive and Unranked games.
